The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of tasks associated with packaging and consolidating waste, forklift operation and handling of hazardous materials on the customer sites.<br><br><strong>Why work for Clean Harbors?</strong><br><ul><li>Health and Safety is our #1 priority and We Live It 3-6-5!</li><li>Competitive wages: $32- $34/hr. based on experience.</li><li>Comprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment.</li><li>Group RRSP with company matching component.</li><li>Opportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career.</li><li>Positive and safe work environments.</li></ul><br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b><br><br><ul><li>Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.</li><li>Working as an on-site Waste Technician supporting operations at a client location, ensuring the safe collection, handling, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials in compliance.</li><li>Conduct routine site inspections and monitor waste handling areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.</li><li>Collect, identify, segregate, and pack HHW items from both customer sites.</li><li>Assist customers with the safe disposal of hazardous materials by providing clear instructions, answering questions, and ensuring proper waste segregation procedures are followed.</li><li>Ensure compliance on behalf of the Comox Valley Regional District.</li><li>Other duties as required. </li></ul><br><br><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br><br><ul><li>Holds a valid Class 5 driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation. </li><li>Experience in handling Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is a large asset.</li><li>Ability to safely operate company vehicles and transport materials while following all transportation and safety regulations.</li><li>Comfortable in labor-intensive work environments including lifting, loading, unloading, and standing for extended periods.</li><li>Forklift Certification and operating experience highly preferred.</li><li>Safety Tickets are preferred: TDG, WHMIS, First Aid.</li><li>Attention to detail, able to take and follow directions and multi-task.</li><li>Ability to work with Window based applications and interact with customers on a daily basis.</li></ul><br><strong>Wondering what to expect in starting your career with Clean Harbors? </strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Click Here</a> to view a Day in the Life Video! <br><br><strong>40-years of sustainability in action.
