{"tool":"get_job","result":{"requisitionId":"166781","client":"Clean Harbors Corporate - CAN","title":"Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic","description":"Clean Harbors in <strong>Edmonton, AB</strong> is looking for an <strong>Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic</strong> to join their safety conscious team! <br><br>This individual will assist in the maintenance and repair of heavy handling units including, but not limited to tractors, trailers, and loaders. <br><br><strong>Why work for Clean Harbors?</strong><br><ul><li>Health and Safety is our #1 priority and We Live It 3-6-5!</li><li>Competitive wages;</li><li><strong>Monday-Thursday 6am-6pm;</strong> compressed schedule.</li><li>Comprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment;</li><li>Group RRSP with company matching component;</li><li>Generous paid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursement;</li><li>Positive and safe work environments;</li><li>Eligible to participate in the employee company stock purchase program;</li><li>Opportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career.</li></ul><br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b><br><br><ul><li>Prioritize safety at all times by following company health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.</li><li>Complete work orders, inspection reports, and other required paperwork accurately and on time.</li><li>Ensure vehicles and equipment are properly secured before performing maintenance or repairs, including the use of wheel chocks, jack stands, and other safety devices.</li><li>Assist with preventive maintenance and repairs on company vehicles, equipment, and machinery.</li><li>Conduct equipment inspections and report maintenance needs or repair requirements.</li><li>Perform routine maintenance services, including lubrication, fluid checks, and component replacements.</li><li>Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical issues on light- and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.</li><li>Install, fit, and adjust new or repaired parts to manufacturer and company standards.</li><li>Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required preventive maintenance documentation.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through regular housekeeping activities.</li><li>Work closely with licensed mechanics and supervisors to develop technical skills and support maintenance operations.</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li></ul><br><br><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br><br><ul><li>Registered Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Apprentice;</li><li>Hands-on mechanical experience with heavy-duty equipment and vehicles;</li><li>Vacuum truck maintenance and repair experience is an asset;</li><li>Valid Class 5 Driver's License required;</li><li>Strong commitment to safety and willingness to learn;</li><li>Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and contribute to a team-oriented workplace.</li></ul><br><strong>40-years of sustainability in action.
